How is the 3-on-3 Tournament structured?
The 3-on-3 Tournament holds up to 16 teams. The match-ups will
be determined via random draw. Brackets and approximate game
times will be available a week before the event. These
results will be posted on this site and will be sent to
all contestants via e-mail.
How many games will I play?
This depends on how far your team advances. All teams will play
at least 2 games. Even if you lose your first tournament game,
your team will play a non-tournament game. This is done for
statistical purposes as prizes will be awarded to the event's
top overall scorer, leading scoring average, etc. If the
tournament field of 32 teams is not met, there is a chance we
may institute a 'loser's bracket' to give losing teams a
second chance to win the tournament.
What are the scoring rules of the tournament?
All games will be 'first to 10 points wins'. Baskets inside
the arc will count as 1 point while shots behind the arc
will count as 2 points.
Do I have to be a St. Catharine parishioner to enter the
3-on-3 or 3-Point contest?
No. Both events are open to everyone that wishes to compete.
Should my team wear the same color shirts?
Wearing the same color shirt is a good idea but is not
neccessary. Since each team consists of only 3 players there
should not be any issues recognizing who is on which team.
Will referees officiate the games?
Referees will not be used, at least not in the early
rounds of the tournament. Referees may be used in the latter
stages of the tournament. Players are required to use good
sportsmanship while calling their own fouls.
How will I know when my game starts or when
the 3-Point contest begins?
After the entry deadline of October 10, random drawing of
the tournament pairings will take place. Once this is
complete, all team captains/three point contestants will
receive an e-mail with an approximate time they should
arrive at the gym.
How are tournament match-ups determined?
The 3-on-3 Tournament match-ups are selected via random draw.
Are there restrictions as to who can enter either event?
Participants in the 3-on-3 Tournament must be at least 18
years of age due to an injury waiver that must be signed by
all competitors. Anyone can enter the 3 Point Contest.

be door prizes, random draw contests, and more.
